In Starbound, news has been revealed that guns are made of three 'parts'. Each part has many kinds of stats, colors and appearances to them. This makes for millions of combinations of parts to make guns from! There's several categories of guns available in the game, ranging from the humble, but effective pistol to the powerful rocket launcher. The amount of guns in the game that can be generated is nearly endless, making for thousands upon thousands of Starbound players who can all have their own unique weapons, different from their peers.
In game, guns will drop as full guns, rather than parts, but there will be options to customize them when you get far enough in the game. Guns can hold stat bonuses as well, though it's yet to be seen if the bonuses will be on the full gun, or on the individual parts.
Guns come in one-handed and two-handed variaties.
